| Verdict Against Michael Jackson's Doctor Announced
Dr. Conrad Murray has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter for his role in the death of pop superstar Michael Jackson. The verdict was read at approximately 4:15 today (November 7th.) When the verdict was read, fans of the late King of Pop began cheering outside the courthouse. The verdict means that Murray has "committed a crime that posed a high risk of death or great bodily injury because of the way the act was committed or the defendant committed a lawful act, but with criminal negligence and the defendant’s acts unlawfully cause another person’s death." Murray's sat expressionless as the verdict was read. He will be sentenced on November 29th. Murray faces up to four years in prison on the conviction. Judge Michael Pastor ordered the doctor to be held without bail until the date of his sentencing. Murray was led from the courtroom in handcuffs. |
