Common, Rick Ross Salute "The Message"

Rappers Team Up For Hip Hop Tribute 1:30PM ET November 28th, 2011 Contributor : Chris G. A Rocky Williform Company Rap superstars Common, LL Cool J, Lupe Fiasco and Rick Ross will all take part in a tribute to "The Message." The classic Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five track introduced topical hip hop to audiences in 1982, and the song will be honored during this year's Grammy Nominations Concert. Furious Five members Melle Mel and Scorpio will also be a featured in the tribute. The nomination concert will air later this week in preparation for the 54th annual Grammy Awards. It was announced last week that "The Message" was selected by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences to be inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame next year.
