Report: Katie Couric "Very Happy" With New Man
After dating on and off since losing her husband 14 years ago, it seems media mogul Katie Couric is ready to bring love back in her life after reports surfaced that she been seeing a man named John Molner.
According to The New York Post's Page Six, the ABC News correspondent has been with 49-year-old Molner for the past few months and sources say the pair are "very happy together." Molner is the head of mergers and acquisitions at Brown Brothers Harriman, an investment bank and securities firm.
Couric seems to be getting more comfotable with him after making a rare public appearance with Molner at the Ellen Hermanson Breast Cancer Benefit on Saturday (July 28) where a guest told Page Six, "Katie looked better than ever and, clearly in love, did her best to keep her relationship with John low-key."
The insider explains, "She was careful not to be photographed with him, but they were clearly together. They looked good together and other guests remarked that he seemed a more age-appropriate match."
Although she stayed professional during the event, Katie - whose husband Jay Monahan died of colon cancer in 1998 - must have loosened up a bit after a witness says the couple "were kissing in the driveway before driving away together."
Miss Couric is preparing to launch her own afternoon talk show on ABC, and even though she says it's still "a work in progress" the show is said to premiere on September 10th and have a studio audience.

Ali Lohan Jets to Korean "Model House"
Perhaps in an attempt to get a break from her headline-making family members, Ali Lohan jetted off to South Korea to try and further her modeling career.
According to TMZ, the 18-year-old model will spend about 30 days living in Korea with a handful of other Americans in a "model house" while they try and book gigs in the Asian market.
An insider tells the site that that the younger sis to Lindsay had no problem leaving the country for awhile and promised to keep in touch with friends via Skype.
Lohan patriarch Michael tweeted, "Best of luck to @aliana in Korea #topmodel #loveya" while her notorious sister retweeted her father's message. Meanwhile, Ali has been busy posting photos of her Korean experience on Twitter.

At this morning’s TCA panel for the new FX comedy Legit ? starring Aussie comedian Jim Jeffries in the story of a comic’s attempt to go legitimate in his life ? actor DJ Qualls (who plays his disabled brother Billy on the series) was asked how he looks so convincing as a disabled guy. It turns out he is himself a cancer survivor from when he was very young and ? as a result of the disease ? decidedly undersized. “I had Stage 3 near Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Disease,” he said. “Chemotherapy kills all fast-growing cells. So my bones never widened, just lengthened.” But Qualls was determined not to spoil the comic mood onstage. At the top of its TCA executive session, FX‘s president John Landgraf announced that the network has renewed acclaimed comedy series Louie for a 13-episode fourth season. Additionally, it has ordered seven more episodes of Russell Brand‘s late-night show BrandX, which Landgraf said will undergo creative changes. As for comedy series Wilfred, which is up 12% this season, Landgraf said he feels “optimistic” about a renewal, noting that that a deal on that is still being hammered out. On the development front, the network has ordered The Bridge, a drama pilot based on the Scandinavian series Bron.�The original series, created by�Hans Rosenfeldt, follows a police investigation following the discovery of a dead body on the bridge connecting Denmark and Sweden. In the U.S. version, written by Cold Case creator Meredith Stiehm and fellow Cold Case writer Elwood Reid, two detectives from the United States and Mexico must work together to hunt down a serial killer operating on both sides of the border after a dead body is found on the bridge connecting El Paso and Juarez. The project hails from Shine America, marking Elizabeth Murdoch company’s first scripted financing effort as it moves from solely producing under the Reveille banner to financing and packaging projects on an opportunistic basis. Kevin Costner Sues Over Profits From ?Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves?
Kevin Costner alleges Morgan Creek Productions reneged on its promise to share profits from the 1991 film that grossed over $390 million worldwide and tens of millions more from television, home video and other sources, according to the lawsuit filed today in LA Superior Court (read it here). His allegations include breach of contract and fraud. Costner minces no words in the introduction of the lawsuit. It reads” “Every actor hopes to star in a great movie that makes substantial profits. But if you’re hoping to earn profits based on the success of your film and you want to be paid on a timely basis, then one company you certainly do not want to do business with is Defendant Morgan Creek Productions”. In the suit, Costner claims Morgan Creek “intentionally concealed information and employed inaccurate and improper accounting practices designed to deprive Mr. Costner of his backend participation”. According to the complaint, Costner was entitled to 12.5% of the adjusted gross receipts of the picture in excess of $60 million and 15% of the AGR in excess of $100 million. A message was left after business hours with Morgan Creek Productions for comment.�The suit seeks unspecified general and punitive damages and court costs. KRS-One Prepping New Album
| Rapper Also Set To Tour Europe
Hip-Hop legend KRS-One will be releasing a new album, and it has been announced that the rhymer will be touring the UK and Europe to promote the release. With the project dubbed The BDP Album, the former Boogie Down Productions frontman will be taking his show to Germany, the Netherlands and Great Britain. KRS' brother Kenny Parker will serve as producer and with 6.8.2. Records executive producing. The label's press release for the album says it has been “20 years in the making” and “commemorates the roots of Hip-Hop’s defining impact on the world.” Aside from two dates--July 23rd and 24th--at the London Jazz Cafe, no further dates have been confirmed. |

SAG-AFTRA Board Cancels Early Bargaining Of Commercials Contracts
The National Board of Directors of SAG-AFTRA met today via videoconference in the first day of a regularly scheduled two-day plenary. It agreed to cancel early bargaining of the Commercials Contracts. The National Board also ended the�SAG Interactive Media Agreement and soon will put into effect�the�AFTRA agreement. It also approved an industry-wide music video pact. Here are the relevant portions of today’s announcement: – The National Board�unanimously approved an agreement with the Joint Policy Committee, which bargains the Commercials Contracts on behalf of employers, to pursue a ?Clearinghouse Project? designed to address some of the data challenges encountered during the Gross Ratings Point (?GRP?) Pilot Project conducted pursuant to the 2009 Commercials Contracts. This agreement results in the mutually agreed upon cancellation of an October early bargaining period regarding GRP that the parties had agreed to during the 2009 negotiations. In light of the additional preparation time made available by the cancellation of early bargaining, the National Board approved a revised schedule for the Commercials Contracts wages and working conditions process. The process will begin with educational meetings to be held in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago beginning August 7th. Formal W&W meetings will be scheduled to begin after September 10th.
